This is the online multiplayer addition to the popular Myst franchise. The game has been in existence in one form or another since late 2003, but due to various business and marketing mishaps over the years, it has never seen commercial success. But with stunning graphics, challenging puzzles, vast mythology and a wonderful community, MO:UL is probably the best game you've never heard of!

The big news is that Cyan Worlds, the game's developer, is preparing to Open Source the code for MO:UL, so that the fans can continue to develop the game! This will be the first time that a fully developed multiplayer game has ever been Open Sourced. We're making history here! It is an exciting time in the long saga of this amazing and groundbreaking project.

Please join us! If you are a fan of the original Myst games and adventure style gameplay (i.e. no shooting!), you should give MO:UL a try. Whether you are a Python programmer, concept illustrator, 3D modeler or just someone who wants to have a good time in a fun and friendly community, there is a place for you in the world of Uru. Potential players keep in mind though, that this is just a static version of the game and all its content, as it was in its last commercial release back in 2007. There will be no new content or new gameplay elements of any kind until the source code is released and we, the developer community, create such content. And as Cyan are working with limited resources, the release of the code could take some time. So if you are happy coming into what is, at the moment, a static situation, cool! We'd love to have you!

However work on new user created content for Uru has been going on in the background for years and there is lots of stuff waiting in the wings, to be integrated into the game once the code is released. So there is a great opportunity for developers to get stuck in right away.

Note: MO:UL is currently PC only - Windows XP, Vista and 7. But there will probably be a Mac port sometime in the future.
